Consultant in Education Development Principal Associate, The Institute of Community Cohesion

Adam is an education consultant with over 30 years experience in comprehensive multicultural education, twenty of which include senior management, secondary headship and local authority advice and inspection work. Much of his work on learning and training has an emphasis on equalities, diversity, community cohesion and global citizenship. He has extensive experience in designing creative strategies for motivating learning behaviour and supporting vulnerable and marginal learners. He has designed, delivered and evaluated a wide range of curriculum projects, facilitated collaborative network learning projects between schools for young people and at school leadership and governance level.


Adam is a regular key-note contributor to conferences and, in association with The Institute of Community Cohesion, is currently leading a number of pathfinder networks for local authorities developing capacity to promote community cohesion. He was the editing author of the UK government resource pack for schools on the duty to promote community cohesion (published on www.teachernet.gov.uk)


Adam’s experience in multi-media educational resource production includes Libra Television, Channel 4 and Midlands Asian Television Network for whom he wrote and directed ‘Leicester Learning’ a series of 22 documentary programmes on inter-cultural education in the City of Leicester. Adam co-authored Nelson Thornes ‘Activate – Citizenship Teachers Handbook’ and multi-media resource pack, and the European Commission’s “Get-in manual for international school projects”, now published in seven languages.


Adam is a regular facilitator for international education study and has led training in Africa, Turkey, Hungary, Australia and Germany as well as jointly coordinating a European Union Comenius network specialising in gender equality, inter-cultural learning and international school linking.
